Food and Restaurant business has been hurt more immediately than any other industry. Their revenue has dropped and operations have become difficult due to shortage of staff and raw material. Yet amidst this chaos, there are some restaurants delivering your favorite food through Zomato and Swiggy and if you are planning to order your food online, here are a few basic tips for you to follow.
1. Hygiene, Hygiene and Hygiene
Avoid ordering from restaurants with poor hygiene. If you haven’t visited the place in the past and are not sure of the hygiene, please avoid ordering from that place. We recommend you order from restaurants and cafes that you have visited in the past and are sure of their hygiene. There are many online cafes and restaurants operating as cloud kitchens (a kitchen with delivery only option through zomato and swiggy) from poorly hygiene locations. Please avoid ordering from such unknown places.
2. Opt for “No-Contact Delivery”
While placing your order online, make sure you opt for the No Contact Delivery option available on Swiggy and Zomato. This will ensure social distancing for you and your delivery guy. The valet will leave your order outside your door or gate on a clean surface.
3. Pay online for your order, not cash:
To avoid exchanging cash with the delivery partner with your hands, make sure you pay for your order online using Paytm, Credit Card or Debit Card. This will help you avoid any interaction with someone outside of your home and lower the risk of spread of Corona virus.
4. Put order packaging in dustbin immediately
The odds of the virus living on the plastic or paper packaging of your order are long, but to be absolutely safe, put your order packaging in dustbin as soon as you receive your order. And above all, wash your hands before eating your food.
5. Tip Your Delivery Valet
Be kind towards people who are working for the society in this stressful time and make sure to tip you valet/delivery guy while placing your order. We are all in this together!
Great tips. We all must take precautions to defeat this virus. Well written!
